Hip-hop night at One Stop? Actually, it’s more like hip-hop week: Wednesday night (Aug. 8) brings Anonymous and sympL for the Universal Boogie Tour (10 p.m., $5).
And on Saturday (Aug. 11), Gift of Gab headlines (local band CrazyHorse & Colston opens) upstairs at Asheville Music Hall. 10 p.m., $10 in advance or $12 day of show.
Sandwiched in between, on Thursday, Aug. 9, is Underground Unheard’s The Man Tour, featuring locally-based freestyle rapper Bobby F***ing White and The Theorizt, a hip-hop sextet from Knoxville. Crocker and Buck Hunt open. That show starts at 10 p.m. and cover is $5. Xpress will give away a pair of tickets to the Thursday show through Facebook. Contest tomorrow (Wednesday) in the noon hour.
Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Thanks to Mountain Xpress. You’ll wanna to catch this show, Asheville! Support real, local music!
