Smart bets web extra: Same As It Ever Was

Although The Talking Heads might come along only once in a lifetime (get it?), tributes to that band’s great avant-pop hits are not so few and far between. Same As It Ever Was, from Knoxville — billed as “the ultimate Talking Heads tribute band” promises to bring “the excitement and energy of everything from ’77, to Stop Making Sense, all the way to Naked.” The seven-piece outfit plays Asheville Music Hall on Friday, Feb. 24. 10 p.m. showtime, $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

Xpress will give away a pair of tickets on Facebook during the noon hour on Wednesday.
