Good music for a good cause: Sure, its not a new concept. But it’s a great concept. One worth repeating. And the release of Wintry Mix: A Seasonal Sampler from the North Carolina Mountains, does one better — the collection available throughout the holiday season, benefits MANNA FoodBank. MANNA can provide food for three meals with every $1 donated.
Wintry Mix includes contributions from Chris Rosser, Rockelle Scott, David LaMotte, Jonathan Scales, Casey Driesen, Chuck Brodsky, Bill Covington, Free Planet Radio, Billy Jonas, Polecat Creek, Billy Cardine and Matthew Richmond.
On Monday, Nov. 18, the rest of the album’s artists will perform at a special release party at LAB. David Wilcox, Polecat Creek, Matthew Richmond, Annie Lalley and Joe Ebel, Billy Jonas, Danny Ellis, Whitney Moore and Juan Benavides, Rockell Scott, Al Petteway and Amy White, and Al Schlimm and Joan D’ Entremont all take the stage. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door; all proceeds go to MANNA.
Can’t make the album release show? Wintry Mix is for sale at the Mast General Store.
