The upcoming Fashion Bites Back fashion show — a team effort by Logan Shamblin (director), Moira Hassler (makeup), Kristyn Lefler (hair) and Nicholas Adams (photographer) — is not just a chance to rub elbows with Asheville’s most glamorous, it’s a benefit for GLBT youth organization YouthOUTRight.
Of course, there will be plenty of catwalk-ready fashion. According to press release, “This event will showcase the talents of local designers such as Gigi Fasano of Vintage Moon, Susan Sertain of The Costume Shoppe, Arthur Blue of Couture Courtesan, and Jade of ZF Jade as well as displaying clothes from the Eagle St store Downtown Collective. Also participating are Kristyn Lefler of Asheville leading the hair stylists and Moira Hassler of Hendersonville leading makeup artists. All models in the show are also local.”
The audience is invited to come in Halloween-inspired dress. During the show, “experience the re-creation of favorite classical monsters such as the vampire, werewolf, Frankenstein, and mummy;” afterwards meet the designers, models and monsters.
The event takes place at Jubilee! (46 Wall St., Asheville). Donation of $5 or more. Doors at 6:30 p.m., show at 7 p.m. Info at fashionbitesback@gmail.com.
