How’s this for entertainment? The Runaway Circus and the Loose Caboose performance troupe promise extraordinay feats of acrobatics, juggling, trapeze, clowning and musical talent. “They are sure to leave any audience member with their jaw dropped and their stomach aching from laughter,” writes organizer Sadye Posterloh.
The Runaway Circus presents the new show The Glug Glug Glug Circus, this weekend at Riverside Studios in Asheville’s River District. “From syncronized swimming acrobats to sea creature juggling, acts will be tied together with a unique and interesting theme — a ship that has sunk in the French Broad river. With real live music and real live circus performers, the Glug Glug Glug Circus is certain to whisk the young or the old of to the magical land of amazement, enchantment and extreme fun,” writes Posterloh.
On Sunday, get your parade on with the Circus, Asheville’s beloved Firecracker Jazz Band and Asheville on Bikes. The parade begins at 12:30 p.m. at Pritchard Park, and winds down to the studios just in time for the preshow and Sunday matinee. Decorate yourself and your bike and join the parade.
Shows are Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. $5 to $25 sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds. Refreshments will be cheaply served.
