The roller derby name game

Want to help the Blue Ridge Rollergirls name the broken-toothed girl on their logo? The local roller derby team announced last week that they’ve extended the deadline on a contest to name the iconic and rowdy lass, which was initially slated to end on April Fool’s Day. Suggestions can be submitted in person at any of the team’s upcoming derby events, which include various training sessions, scrimmage games, appearances and fundraisers. The person who suggests the winning name will receive at free ticket to the BRRG’s inaugural bout in June. For more information on the team, check out their MySpace page.

jason, i’d like to say that roller derby is not just a ‘stupid hipster fad.’ it’s actually a sport that began in 1935 in chicago, and has had its revivals over the years.
currently, it is a very popular, female-driven game that should not be taken lightly. the girls are fierce, and don’t sit around comparing tattoos and boy stories. they instead discuss tactics for bouts, and bruises they’ve proudly earned.

i doubt you could last 30 seconds in a ring.

  2. I think you stating that it has “had its revivals over the years” sort of implies that it is a fad.

I neither brought up tattoos nor boy stories, so obviously you are actually letting what really goes down out.

I could last longer on a roller derby track than you could in an English 111 class, Ms. Non-capitalization.

Also, until you can prove otherwise, roller derby will always be professional wrestling on wheels to me.
