Some art is hard to understand. When you’re working with abstract forms or the subtle manipulation of colors, there may be multiple—and equally valid—interpretations of meaning and nuance. When it comes to things like fire dancing, hula hooping, “techno contra dancing” and bellydancing, you’d be hard pressed to find a place more supportive than Asheville. But I think we can do better. Like becoming a national magnet for all things Lindy Hop. And if you think that’s an unattainable goal, just take a look at this recent Ashevile performance by The Killer Dillers, showing off their award-winning routine “Killer Diller Man From The South” on New Years Eve.
And while we’re all thinking about eclectic dance forms Asheville is known for, we really shouldn’t forget the whole aerial dance thing that’s become so popular in recent years. Here’s a member of local aerial dance company the Libravado Sisters performing the “Lyra” routine.

Do you love beer? How about stop-motion animation? Both, you say? Prepare, then, to have your mind blown by this stop-motion animation about beer, filmed on location at Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company.
