What’s new on Google Video’s “Asheville” search?

Every day, tens of thousands of videos are uploaded to Web sites such as YouTube, and a surprising number of them come from local submitters. What follows is a collection of recently submitted videos tagged with “Asheville” from a search on Google’s Video Search.

No Shame Theater at NC Stage Co. Produced for URTV, this video includes the entire, uncensored performance on Feb. 24, 2007. At just under two hours in length, it’s also something you can actually settle in and enjoy for the evening.

Afromotive DVD Trailer Local afrobeat group Afromotive is planning to release a documentary and live performance DVD this summer, but they’ve offered this video to give their fans a taste of what’s to come.

F.L.A. (Fashion Liberation Army) RAW Trailer Obviously, this is some kind of comedic short film, but the context of why it was created is lost. Still, it’s worth watching, if only to hear the chant: “Fashion for the people! Fashion for the people! Now! Now! Now!”

Asheville, N.C, longboarding … Doing what we do best This is a strangely compelling video of some guys on longboard-style skateboards rolling around a residential street.

Grill: Goes to Asheville “Ain’t nothing wrong with different, especially if you in Asheville, North Carolina,” video blogger Grill tells us. See Asheville from the perspective of a visitor, as he recounts his visit to the Bier Garden and more.
