Yoga for all

More than 2,000 Asheville residents have walked through the doors of Asheville Community Yoga. The studio’s goal is to help everyone, regardless of financial need, learn to stretch and empower their bodies. Classes are offered for free, with typical donations of $5-$15. The public has responded to the studio’s mission with gusto, so much so that the studio has outgrown its current space.

Asheville Community Yoga is expanding to an additional studio next door, located at 8 Brookdale Road in Asheville. The community is invited to celebrate with a grand opening event on Tuesday, March 20 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The festivities will include live music, yoga demos and food from Earth Fare. The Asheville Area Commerce will make it official with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:45 p.m.

Asheville Community Yoga’s unique mission brings in enthusiasts of all kinds. “The center is becoming a melting pot where people from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and ages are coming together to practice. We see students, seniors, servers, bar tenders, doctors, attorneys, accountants…all showing up and practicing next to each other.”
