Flats are the new heels

Check out these brocade and leopard-print China flats from Open Door Boutique (35 Haywood St., 254-8056). There are plenty more styles to choose from, and they’re cheap enough to buy lots.

Loose threads

The Classie Moon Thrift Boutique (36 Battery Park Ave., 252-3492) recently opened in downtown Asheville, providing bargain shoppers with a supply of contemporary clothing. Women’s jeans, pants, tops, sweaters, skirts, shoes and dresses are available, as well as plenty of apparel in Indian gauze and other ethereal, flowing fabrics. The shop also features tarot readings and a paranormal museum.
