3-D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Resources In Asheville and Western North Carolina will come together June 13, 2014 for an in depth afternoon conference showcasing the regions success and bright future. Local inventors, businesses, students, and inquiring minds alike are encouraged to attend to become educated about local resources, additive manufacturing processes, and local businesses utilizing 3-D printing.
The event will be held Friday, June 13 from 12:30- 5:30 pm at the Haynes Conference and Training Center, located at BASE on the A-B Tech campus in Candler at 1459 Sand Hill Road. Patrick Gardner, of WCU Prototyping Center, will kick off the event providing an overview of additive manufacturing and on-shoring. In addition, regional service providers will team up to discuss early stage technology and prototyping in the region. Followed by a panel of regional businesses currently using additive manufacturing.
Attendees are encouraged to bring questions. Ample networking time will be provided to inspire open conversation about original ideas, prototyping, and manufacturing. Clemson University Architecture, Twisteker, Wick and Greene Jewelers, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Mojo Coworking, Spectra 3D Systems, Manufacturing Solutions Center, and A-B Tech Engineering & Applied Technology Department are among the panelists speaking at the event.
The event is hosted by A-B Tech – Engineering & Applied Technology Department, Asheville Center for Professional Studies, Blue Ridge Tech Ventures, and WCU Rapid Prototype Center. Tickets for the event are $20, $10 for students.
