Authorities are investigating a bomb threat Wednesday afternoon at Erwin High School.
The school received a call about 2:45 p.m., just before dismissal, that there was a suspicious device in the office, said Jason Rhodes, interim communications director for Buncombe County Schools. Students were evacuated to the football field, he said, and dismissed about 3:15 p.m.
