Both Asheville City and Buncombe County schools saw increases in the graduation rates, according to numbers released by the state Department of Public Instruction on Thursday.
The graduation rates were released along with the results of end-of-course and end-of-grade testing and other performance measures.
Asheville City Schools’ graduation rate increased from 81.6 percent in the 2012-13 school year to 86.5 percent last year, according to the state numbers. The graduation rate for city schools is the highest in history, city school officials said.
