AC-T: OSHA cites Bear Zoo, says it endangered workers

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Friday that the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued citations to Cherokee Bear Zoo, saying the business endangered the lives of workers by allowing them to come in direct contact with bears.

The agency fined the zoo $3,120 after receiving a complaint from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

In a complaint filed in October, PETA provided photographs and video showing zoo workers inside bear enclosures with the animals.
