Is a merged Asheville and Buncombe County government a possibility?
An Asheville Citizen-Times columnist asked last weekend whether some lawmakers, specifically Rep. Rep. Tim Moffitt, R-Buncombe, would like to see Asheville disappear.
Moffitt told John Boyle he’s not interested in dissolving the city or its charter, but he is very open to the possible merging of city and Buncombe County departments and functions.
