Check it out: ADA’s “25th Anniversary Prize a Day Giveaway”

Through Friday, Aug. 10, the Asheville Downtown Association is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a PRIZE A DAY GIVEAWAY. Each weekday, the ADA will give away a prize through its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AshevilleDowntownAssociation. Prizes include: $25 gift cards to Lexington Avenue Brewery, the Grove Arcade and Paul Taylor Custom Sandals. Plus VIP packages to Downtown After 5 and Oktoberfest.

Prizes will be given away each weekday until Friday, August 10 leading up to the ADA’s Downtown Heroes Celebration & 25th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, August 11 from 6-10pm in the Banquet Hall of the US Cellular Center.

“In our 25th anniversary year, it is more important than ever to recognize the efforts of individuals who have made a substantial impact on our downtown. The majority of revitalization efforts were undertaken by people who had a vision and passion for what downtown could become,” said Adrian Vassallo, president of the ADA Board of Directors.

The awards recognize individuals or organizations that have shown commendable dedication to the unique history, vibrant growth and sustainability of downtown Asheville. Downtown Heroes have been active in the revitalization of downtown and have contributed time and energy to improve the downtown area for businesses, residents and tourists. At last year’s inaugural event, Leslie Anderson, Bob and Ellen Carr/Tops for Shoes, and Public Interest Projects were named Downtown Heroes.

Vassallo continued, “Now that we are seeing the fruits of so many individual efforts, it is time to recognize those that took risks when no one else would. We look forward to recognizing these individuals at the gala and hope you can join us to celebrate their accomplishments.”

The evening will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and entertainment. Tickets for members are $25 or $175 for a table of eight. Potential members are $35 or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at ashevilledowntown.org.
