Adult Kickball League back by popular demand April 2

Press release from Buncombe County Recreation Services:

Registration for Buncombe County Recreation Services’ (BCRS) popular Adult Kickball League has opened and teams who sign up by Monday, February 18, have an opportunity to win a free team registration. All games will be played on Tuesday evenings from April 2-May 28 at Buncombe County Sports Park (58 Apac Circle in Asheville). Matches will use a staggered start schedule from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

“We host adult sport and social leagues throughout the year including indoor dodgeball and sand volleyball, but kickball is our most popular. It always sells out,” said Mac Stanley, BCRS Athletics Coordinator. “If you haven’t played since you were a kid or never even played at all, kickball is easy to learn and open to all skill levels. The league offers a low-stress, relaxed atmosphere in which to stay active and connect with others.”

Registration is $25 per player before March 19; if spaces are still available, they are $35 each beginning on March 20. Players can sign up as part of a team or as a free agent. Teams are co-ed and consist of 9-16 players, with at least three players of the opposite sex. (If a team is majority female, there must be at least three male players. If a team is majority male, there must be at least three female players.) Registration fees include a team shirt and help offset the cost of referees and field maintenance.

Players who register by midnight on Monday, February 18, will be entered to win a free team entry. How does this work? The name of everyone who registers will be placed in a hat with one being drawn at random. The registration fees for the player and their entire team will be waived and refunded. Draft your co-workers, BFFs, and neighborhood pals in your quest for kickball stardom!
