Have your questions about delivering at The Baby Place answered. We invite you to explore our unit while learning about birth options, registration, services and amenities available here at AdventHealth. A tour is included in the Celebrate Pregnancy and Childbirth Class and there is no need to sign up for a separate tour if you are registering for childbirth classes. We encourage all who deliver at AdventHealth to attend this free tour. Tour sizes are limited, so reserve your spot now!

Celebrate Pregnancy & Childbirth 3-Day Class
Sundays, February 10, 17, 24, 1 – 5 p.m.
AdventHealth Hendersonville

This FREE three-session, 12-hour childbirth course offers all the essentials to prepare you for labor, childbirth and the care of your newborn. Topics include:

Session One: late pregnancy, onset of labor, the stages of labor, what labor feels like, how to time contractions, knowing when to leave for the hospital, and baby’s delivery.

Session Two: what to expect the first hour after giving birth, medical procedures in childbirth, understanding cesarean birth, how to support your loved one in childbirth, breath awareness skills, and hands-on comfort measures in labor. Please bring three comfy pillows and a blanket to this session.

Session Three: postpartum recovery and care, resuming intimacy after childbirth, breastfeeding education – including proper latch and positioning, newborn sleep safety, diapering and bathing your newborn, and how to soothe a fussy baby. Please bring a baby doll or stuffed animal to this session.

A tour of The Baby Place will be offered with session two. Plan on attending all sessions of the class. Light refreshments are provided. Registration includes all three sessions and is FREE.

New Beginnings Postpartum Support Group
Wednesdays, February 6, 13, 20, 27, 10 –11 am

This FREE support group is a place where new families can gather together to share their experiences, receive help and support from each other, and find community resources. The group is led by a Baby Place nurse, and/or a Baby Place lactation consultant. A scale will be provided to weigh babies. Two caregivers and babies under one-year may attend. No registration required.

Screenings Offered:
Cholesterol/Glucose: Lipid profiles by finger stick. For best results, fast for three to four hours before the screening.
Body Composition: Body fat and hydration percentages, body mass index, fat percentage and predicted muscle mass for overall body composition.
Blood Pressure: Screening to detect abnormal blood pressure levels.
