American Herbalists Guild celebrates 25 years with a mid-summer herbal stress buster

From press release:

The American Herbalists Guild (AHG) was founded in 1989 as a non-profit, educational organization to represent the goals and voices of herbalists specializing in the medicinal use of plants. The primary goal of the AHG is to promote a high level of professionalism and education in the study and practice of therapeutic herbalism. AHG officially moved its national headquarters to Asheville, NC in January 2013.

To celebrate this impressive milestone the AHG has planned a Silver Jubilee series of fun and educational herbal themed workshops that are available to members of the Guild as well as the general public.

The second of these events, the Mid-Summer Herbal Stress Buster is to be held on July 19-20 at our beautiful office and event space in downtown Asheville at 125 S. Lexington Ave, Suite 101.

On Saturday July19, The AHG is proud to host Oregon based clinical herbalist and educator, Howie Brounstein who will lead a workshop on stress, adrenal glands, and herbal strategies. The day also includes an herbal recipe demonstration by local herbalist and French Broad Food Coop educator, Melissa Fryar. Attendees are encouraged to submit an “herb ball” recipe with stress mediating herbs for free admission. The recipe contest will be judged by local herb school directors, CoreyPine Shane and Ceara Foley. Light lunch will be provided.

Sunday, July 20 will include a plant walk and a meditation at the Asheville Botanical Gardens hosted by Howie Brounstein and Mimi Hernandez, Executive Director of the AHG.

The next AHG Silver Jubilee event hosts Susan Leopold, cirector of United Plant Savers on September 20.
