APD and Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office conducting joint investigation regarding missing persons, seeking information from citizens

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the Asheville Police Department are conducting a joint investigation regarding missing persons, Alexandra Brooke King and Tatianna Dis, who were last seen on October 27th leaving Canterbury Place Apartments in between the hours of 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. The number one priority for both agencies at this time is locating Alexandra and Tatianna.

The dark blue VW Jetta belonging to Alexandra King was recovered yesterday morning on Craven Street at the edge of the French Broad River near the New Belgium Brewery site. We are investigating the connection between these missing persons and Pierre Lamont Griffin II. Both women are considered to be endangered.

A multi-agency search, involving the Asheville Police Department, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and State Highway Patrol, began yesterday and will continue throughout the day today.

A press conference will be held today, October 28th, at 11:30 a.m. outside of the Asheville Police Department. Representatives from both agencies will be present.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Alexandra and Tatianna are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050.

Additional release from APD:

The Asheville Police Department is seeking information from anyone who was in the riverfront area from Emma Road to Haywood Road on October 27, 2015 between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. that witnessed any suspicious activity.

Below please find a photo of similar 1988 Volkswagen Jetta, which was recovered from the area on October 28th.
