News release from the Asheville Police Department:
Asheville Police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile at an apartment complex in South Asheville on Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Long Shoals Road around 6:03 p.m. on April 17th to investigate a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they located the juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the legs. Responding officers applied a tourniquet to the victim until the arrival of EMS. The victim was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment, and released.
Detectives and Forensics Technicians responded to the scene and were able to recover evidence.
