APD seeking tips on recent shooting down neighborhood street

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville, NC (October 29, 2021): Fourteen shell casings were found after a barrage of gunfire down a residential street.

Multiple calls came in reporting the sound of gunshots in the 100 block of Bartlett Street on October 28th at 10:28 pm. Officers arrived to find fourteen shell casings in the street.

Fortunately, there have been no injuries or property damage reported at this time. A small silver and burgundy SUV was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

Detectives are investigating this incident, but need your help. If you would like to anonymously share information you can text TIP2APD to 847411, or use the TIP2APD smartphone app. You can also share information by calling 828-252-1110.

Since January 1, 2021, the Asheville Police Department has responded to 501 calls for service reporting shots fired or someone being shot. In addition, 42 people have been shot in Asheville this year.

    Funny how the city council’s “defund the police” posture has resulted in more criminal activity, one might think they are stupid.
