APD seeks help identifying armed robber

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville Police investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying an armed robber who held up a business at gunpoint Sunday night in east Asheville.

APD officers were dispatched to the Dollar General at the 800 block of Fairview Road around 8:23 p.m. Feb. 13 to investigate an armed robbery. A man entered the store around 8:12 p.m., and when he went to make a purchase just a few minutes later, he brandished a handgun and demanded the cash in the register from the clerk. The man then left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was injured.

Investigators say the suspect is described as a thin white male with long brown hair, about 5’ 8”, wearing a black jacket, dark-colored pants, a dark beanie, black gloves and a mask.

APD patrol officers were able to locate a person of interest in the vicinity, but detectives are still on the hunt for the armed robber.
