APD seeks help identifying robbery suspects

Preliminary investigation reveals that a white male in his late twenties or early thirties wearing a black long sleeve shirt and gray toboggan entered the store displaying a knife. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and left in a small light colored pick-up truck with a camper cover.

Help needed to identify robbery suspect

(ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Nov. 25, 2016) – The Asheville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying robbery suspects.

On Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at approximately 3:10 a.m. Asheville Police responded to an armed robbery at Jordan’s Hotspot at 1069 Sweeten Creek Road. Preliminary investigation reveals that a white male in his late twenties or early thirties wearing a black long sleeve shirt and gray toboggan entered the store displaying a knife. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and left in a small light colored pick-up truck with a camper cover. Surveillance images of the suspect and pick-up are attached.

Later the same morning, at 6:50 a.m. Asheville Police responded to a common law robbery at Mountain Energy gas station and convenience store at 301 Smokey Park Highway. Preliminary investigation reveals that a white male in his late twenties or early thirties wearing a black long sleeve shirt and a baseball cap demanded money from the cash register. He left in small light colored pick-up truck with a camper cover. Surveillance images of the suspect and pick-up are attached.

No injuries were reported in either incident. The same person is believed to be the suspect in both robberies.
