APD seeks info on fatal hit-and-run in early morning hours of Sept. 30

Update from Asheville Police Department:

UPDATE (September 30, 2018): The victim has been identified as Bradley Christopher Barnes (29), of Asheville.

Asheville, NC (September 30, 2018): The Asheville Police Department is requesting assistance to gather information on a hit and run that resulted in a pedestrian fatality early this morning at approximately 2:48 a.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of Max Street and South Charlotte Street. A pedestrian was attempting to cross at the intersection when they were struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

APD is working to notify the victim’s next of kin.

If anyone has any information on this incident they are encouraged to contact the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers at (828) 255-5050, if they wish to remain anonymous.
