Approval sought for a diagnostic center in Buncombe County

News release from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services:

Novant Health Asheville Imaging Center LLC and Novant Health Inc. have filed a certificate of need application with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to develop a diagnostic center in Asheville, N.C.

The project is expected to cost $8.3 million and would be completed in January 2026.

A public hearing for this project will be held Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. at the Black Mountain Public Library’s meeting room, 105 N. Dougherty St. in Black Mountain.

Anyone may file written comments concerning this proposal. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Comments may be submitted as an attachment to an email if they are sent to DHSR.CON.Comments@dhhs.nc.gov. Comments may also be mailed to the following address:
