Arden girl survives 60-foot fall into well

According to the Hendersonville Times-News, Emergency crews Thursday rescued a 16-year-old girl who fell through a rotted porch floor and down a 60-foot well at a home on Sugarloaf Road.

Alyson Myers of Arden was trapped in the well for more than five hours. Her boyfriend, who was running errands when she fell into the well at about 10:30 a.m., called 911 just before 2 p.m. when he returned to the house at 2142 Sugarloaf Road and heard screams for help.

Emergency responders said Myers was talking and alert during the rescue effort. She was pulled from the well at 4 p.m. and taken to Mission Hospital as a precaution.
