Asheville-based food blog “Hold the Buns” is a chronicle of one family’s attempt to navigate the waters of various dietary requirements. The father/husband of the family, Jason Spencer, has Celiac disease (meaning he can’t digest gluten). Needless to say, the family enjoys dining in downtown Asheville’s Posana, where not a speck of gluten resides. Read on for their take:
“If you are gluten free and looking for a great vacation spot, Asheville is the new gluten free destination, and Posana in my opinion would be considered the main feature. They are open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, and open for lunch and dinner most weekdays (Mondays may be closed during the winter season). Be sure to check their website at http://www.posanacafe.com for current hours before visiting.
Another fantastic characteristic of Posana Cafe: all their food is local and organic. They go out of their way to ensure the freshest ingredients through the support of local farms. The fresh ingredients bring flavor and nutritional content to the food that you just don’t find at your average restaurant. Posana is not only providing great tasting food, but it is raising the bar for all-organic restaurants across America in the revolution of healthy, locally grown food.”
