Asheville, N.C. – Job seekers will have many opportunities to advance their career in the New Year at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce’s 10th Annual Homecoming Career Fair. Nearly 4,500 of them, to be exact, with plenty of quality jobs. The region’s largest annual career fair, presented by Manpower and The Omni Grove Park Inn, will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Davis Event Center at the WNC Agriculture Center in Fletcher.
The participating companies are looking to hire for anestimated 4,500 positions availablearound Western North Carolina in 2016. With more than 100 employers and job seeker resources slated to attend, the popular career fair will showcase regional employment opportunities in growth industries, including advanced manufacturing, health care services, technology, financial services, and hospitality.
Information on participating employers is listed online at www.HomecomingJobFair.com. A mobile app will be available for download and use at the event to easily locate employers at their booth locations.
Additional career opportunities, specifically for startups and in the IT/tech and programming fields, can be found among the roughly 50 high-skill open positions on Venture Asheville’s job board at VentureAsheville.com/jobs.
As an added benefit, the career fair will include two professional development seminars sponsored by AARP for area job seekers, both held at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. titled, “Get Ready, Get Set, Go, Jobs at 40+” and “Encore Entrepreneurship.” Career seekers are encouraged to bring resumes for distribution, as many employers will accept applications at the event.
