Press release from Asheville City Schools:
Due to high winds, heavy rain and potential flooding, please know our outstanding transportation and school nutrition staff will NOT be able to deliver meals at Hillcrest Apartments, Klondyke Apartments and the Livingston Street Area (including Herb Watts Park, Walton Street Park and the Wesley Grant Center) for today, Thursday, October 29th. All other Food Distribution Sites and times will remain the same, and all our school-based drive-thru sites will be open for lunch today.
Additionally, please know that all activities, including but not limited to live lessons, small groups, club meetings and athletic practices, scheduled to occur at 1:30 PM or later have been cancelled for this afternoon.
Knowing that there will be heavy traffic with potentially dangerous road conditions at our normal dismissal time, all staff across the district may go home for the day at 1:30 PM.
