Asheville City Schools Foundation director to depart organization

Kate Pett, executive director of the Asheville City Schools Foundation, will leave the organization on March 29.

Message from Asheville City Schools Foundation Board of Directors President George Sieburg:

I have bittersweet news to share. Kate Pett, Executive Director, will be leaving the Foundation on March 29 to support the development of a new initiative, Thrive Asheville. Although we will miss Kate’s leadership, we are thrilled that she will be widening her circle of influence to benefit our entire community. Kate’s next steps build on the work she has done at the ACSF; her legacy of convening diverse community members to solve pressing problems through collaboration and innovation will remain foundational to our work for years to come.

Kate has provided exceptional leadership for more than ten years. During her tenure, the ACSF has greatly increased financial assets, developed a staff of nine talented and dedicated team members, and diversified our board to engage leaders from across the community. This transition presents an opportunity for the board of directors and staff to explore what the next ten years might bring. Our board and staff are forming a transition team, engaging a consultant, and embracing this change with the confidence that comes from a strong fiscal position and a dedicated staff team.

Please join me in congratulating Kate on taking this next step. We know that Kate will carry with her a commitment to building connected and empowered community, and bright futures for all children and families in Asheville. We wish her all the best.

I am grateful for your support of the Asheville City Schools Foundation. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions, I will keep you informed as we move through this transition.

Yours in Partnership,

George Sieburg, ACSF Board of Directors President
