Remember your animals when you celebrate
Did you know that more pets go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year?
And despite our best efforts to keep our pets safe, they can still escape. Fireworks can be terrifying to animals, who panic and run away, jump fences and even break through windows! Please make sure that your cats and dogs have proper, up-to-date identification, so that if they do end up missing, they can get home safely as soon as possible! FREE engraved ID tags and $15 microchips are available at the Buncombe County Animal Shelter, Monday – Saturday, 9am-6pm. No appointment needed. Stop by now and have peace of mind later!
If you ever find a stray or lose a pet, please contact Asheville Humane Society’s Lost and Found Coordinator at lostandfound@ashevillehumane.org or 828.250.6431 so we can help!
