Press release from city of Asheville
To further connect with community members and remove barriers to participation, members of the public will soon be able to view City of Asheville board and commission meetings held in the First Floor Conference Room at City Hall in real-time. This upgrade in equipment will allow meetings to be live-streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel in the same way City Council meetings are streamed and will provide a more complete archive of board and commission meetings.
New board and commission meetings are coming on-line as quickly as meetings can be reserved for this room. The Neighborhood Advisory Committee and the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee have successfully piloted the new equipment. To determine if a specific board or commission meeting is being live-streamed, check the board’s webpage.
Public comment for in-person meetings being live-streamed may be submitted via email or voicemail by 5 p.m. the day prior to the meeting or made in-person at the meeting.
