Asheville Planning and Zoning Commission seeks applicants

The City of Asheville currently has openings on various committees. Do you want to have a voice in the City’s growth and future? If yes, take that initial step forward and put your perspective, leadership, and knowledge to task by serving on one of Asheville’s many committees.

Current Board and Commission Vacancy:

Planning and Zoning Commission

  • ●  The application deadline is Monday, August 5, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
  • ●  Consideration of these appointments is scheduled for the September 10, 2024, City

    Council meeting.

    Application Instructions

  1. Complete the online boards and commissions application.
  2. After your application is received, you will receive a receipt of application email from the City Clerk’s

    Office. If you do not receive an email receipt within one business day after submittal, please contact

    boards@ashevillenc.gov to verify that your application reached the City Clerk’s Office.

  3. When vacancies occur, the City Council will review the resource list and may schedule interviews. You

    will be contacted directly if it is necessary for you to interview for an appointment.

    NOTE: It is highly recommended that prospective applicants attend or watch previous meeting recordings of the board they would like to apply to before applying.
