Asheville Police Department Detectives are investigating an early morning stabbing in Asheville that leaves one man dead.
APD Patrol Officers responded to the 290 block of Smokey Park Highway around 4:12 a.m. on Sept. 27 for reports of a stabbing. There they found a man on the train tracks who had been stabbed several times. Buncombe County EMS arrived shortly; however, the victim succumbed to his wounds. Next of kin has not been made aware.Criminal Investigations Division Detectives and Forensic Technicians worked throughout the morning and are actively investigating as they work through a number of leads.
