Press release from Asheville Police Department:
The Asheville Police Department is seeking information on the identity of the owner of two standard poodles, one white and one tan. The owner is described as a white female, approximately 60 years of age, was walking the dogs off leash near UNC Asheville’s Lookout Observatory on Monday, April 9, around 8 a.m. An individual who was running on the nearby trail was approached by the dogs and bit. The injuries were minor, not requiring stitches. If the owner is not located within the next 48 hours the victim will be required to receive the rabies post-exposure regimen of shots.
The APD is also seeking information on the identity of the owner of a brown pit bull. The owner, described as a tall, white male, with long red hair, was walking his dog at 7 SW Pack Square when the dog bit an individual. The owner fled the scene. If the owner is not located within the next 48 hours the victim will be required to receive the rabies post-exposure regimen of shots.
