Asheville police seeking suspect wanted for attempted robbery, kidnapping at Asheville store last October

The Asheville Police Department is asking the public’s help to locate Tracee Lakiem Green (8/22/1991), who has open warrants for attempted robbery, assault, and kidnapping at a grocery store in north Asheville in October.

Tracee Lakiem Green (8-22-1991) has been charged with the following:

• Attempted Robbery
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
• Assault by Strangulation
• First Degree Kidnapping

In the early morning hours of Oct. 23, 2021, police say Green kidnapped another man in a parking lot along the 900 block of Merrimon.  The victim told police Green was armed with a handgun and dragged him to the rear of a store, tied his hands with duct tape and assaulted him in the face with his fist.  Fortunately, the man was able to get away, but Green fled the scene.

Green is described as a 30-year-old black male, 6’ 3”, 205 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
