Press release from the City of Asheville:
The City of Asheville continues to monitor the most up-to-date information available from public health officials at the local, state and federal levels regarding COVID-19. Based on the information provided to us, the City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department has decided that it is in the best interest of our community for City of Asheville pools to remain closed this season. This includes all three pools located at Recreation Park, Malvern Hills Park and Walton Street Park and Splasheville in Pack Square Park.
Attempting to operate the pools this season would not be feasible logistically or most importantly from a safety standpoint. This is not an easy decision for us to make as we know that many in our community look forward to using the pools and Splasheville each summer, but the health and safety of our community is our most important priority.
Information regarding all Parks & Recreation Department programs and park operations can be found on the Asheville Parks & Recreation Facebook page at www.facebook.com/APRCA and on the City’s website at www.ashevillenc.gov/parks.
