Software engineer and Asheville resident Dan Florio gets paid to tell people when to pee — lots of people. Over one million smart phone users have downloaded his RunPee app, a movie-goers best friend when it comes to predicting films’ dullest moments.
The idea struck Florio after a traumatizing viewing of King Kong in 2008, a movie he could barely enjoy due to the discomfort of a full bladder.
“Out of that pain came the RunPee app,” he told CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann.
Not only does the app alert users to upcoming three-to-five minute lulls, but it also offers recaps of missed moments, counts down to future “peetimes” and tells users whether any extra scenes will play after the credits.
Strassmann profiled Florio for CBS News on Friday, Jan. 16. Read the full story here.
Note: You have now reached an appropriate peetime.
