From Asheville Sister Cities inc. press release:
Seeking home hosts for exchange students
As part of our Valladolid, Mexico sister city programming, we’re sponsoring two high school students for a full year exchange at Asheville High next year from our sister city of Valladolid, Mexico. (Learn more about them at the bottom of this article.) We have their spaces reserved, their applications are complete, and now we are looking for housing for both of them. Asheville High requires that exchange students be living with an AHS family with a student enrolled in the school. We’re hoping that someone might be willing to host one of these great kids for the coming school year, or know of a family who would be willing to do so. Housing would be needed from approximately the first week in August 2015 through the first or second week in June of 2016.
ASCI volunteer Sybil Argintar has been trained and certified as the local coordinator for this program through American Cultural Exchange Services and the State Department, so all family placements need to be done through her. All families must fill out an application and be fully vetted before a student can live with them.
Click here for detailed info about the high school homestay program. If you are interested in hosting one of these amazing students, please email Sybil at sybil.argintar@yahoo.com. Thank you so much, and please don’t miss this great opportunity to help with people-to-people connections for a more peaceful world!
