From the press release:

ASHEVILLE, NC (April 11, 2012) Asheville Savings Bank’s time capsule was placed in the Downtown Banking Center vault on Monday, April 9th. The time capsule was created to commemorate 75 years of significant achievements and service to the community. The capsule will be locked in the Downtown vault for 25 years until April 9, 2036.

At 11 a.m. on April 9th, Asheville Savings Bank employees and community members gathered together for the final dedication of the time capsule. Leading the dedication was President and CEO, Suzanne DeFerie. She was joined by board member Leslie Green, executive David Kozak, retired Asheville Savings Bank employee Wilma Lindsey, members of the Culture Club and others from the downtown location.

For the past few months as the capsule has traveled to all 13 Asheville Savings Bank banking centers, community members have added historical items related to the bank that they had in their possession, in addition to what the bank provided. These added items are a true testament of Asheville Savings Bank’s impact on the community over the past three quarters of a century.
