Autistics United launches social network and website

Press release

Autistics United Social Network

“We hope to create both community interaction and dialogue in order to reduce neural-minority stigma and social isolation for people who have been marginalized by their neurological differences. Helping and learning from one another is our main goal.

At Autistics United Social Network we encourage our fellow Autistics to embrace their Autism. As we continue on life’s journey, we realize the great personal benefits of being on the Autism spectrum. Sometimes the best therapy is to have fellow Autistics to relate to, to talk with, regardless of age. With the right support, we believe that every Autistic can function and flourish in today’s society regardless of where they are on the Autism spectrum.

We strive to give you a deeper understanding of how truly unique and broad the Autistic spectrum really is. No two people are alike; whether they be a child, a teenager on the cusp of adulthood, a middle-aged adult or a senior citizen. We teach people to be more open-minded, rather than sticking to vague terms such as “high functioning” or “low functioning.”
We believe that Autism is not something that needs to be cured, but rather something that society can learn to embrace. We have grown into our Autism, not out of it. With a trusting attitude and helpful community, our fellow Autistics can learn to not only cope with day-to-day life, but thrive in it. Not everybody has been supportive or believed in us, but sometimes we end up working together with these people to make some kind of compromise. Ideally, we learn from each other, even in the most challenging situations.

AutisticsUnited.com is a 100 percent free autism social network which gives its members freedom to meet and interact with other autistic people, friends, and family. The site is for all people on the autism spectrum. If you’re under 18 years of age please have parental or guardian consent before joining the site.

If you are a parent you will also have the ability to create own parent support group, from any country. We have also created a group on the site for Asperger’s Adults United and Asperger’s Teens United!

Autistics United is packed with all types of features like events, videos, groups custom profiles and more. Each member can create their own personal group for other members to join. Members can promote their events and send out invites to all their friends free of charge. The site also has instant messaging, blogs, videos, photo galleries, customizable profiles and much more.

We are continuing to work to make the site as user friendly and straightforward as possible.
