Press release

Biltmore Farms Hotels announces the closing of the Biltmore Village Lodge, formerly the Sleep Inn Biltmore, located in Biltmore Village. The property will be repositioned to make way for a new Hampton Inn & Suites, which will open in Spring of 2017.

The Sleep Inn Biltmore opened in 1994 as the second property of Biltmore Farms Hotels. The hotel won several Choice Hotel’s Gold Winner awards and was converted to the independent Biltmore Village Lodge in 2014.

The Hampton Inn & Suites will have 118 total guest rooms, including 35 suites, bringing 54 new hotel rooms to Asheville. The property will feature a clean, modern design with vibrant colors reflecting the spirit of the City, as well as Biltmore Farms Hotels’ Vanderbilt Legacy. A Tap Room, featuring an exclusive selection of local beer and wine, outdoor terrace space with fire pit and an indoor pool are just a few of the unique amenities available to guests, as well as innovative technology that includes an interactive lobby Go-Board and business center with docking and charging stations. The new property will also boast many energy-efficient features throughout the building including low flow plumbing fixtures, LED and compact fluorescent lighting, in-room HVAC occupancy sensors with thermal and motion detection, as well as native landscaping.
Employees from the Biltmore Village Lodge were relocated within the other properties in Biltmore Farms Hotels’ portfolio, with the majority landing at the DoubleTree Biltmore. The opening of the Hampton Inn and Suites will create new opportunities for growth within the Biltmore Farms Hotels employment base, as well as for the Asheville community.

“While we never look forward to the end of one of our properties, we are excited about expanding our portfolio in the Asheville market with the Hampton Inn & Suites,” stated Ron Storto, Vice President of Hospitality for Biltmore Farms. “This opportunity will bring growth within our company for employees, as well as to develop a unique hotel with modern amenities in Biltmore Village.”
