The Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway opened this past Tuesday; the Linville Falls campground opens on Sunday, April 1 … the Blue Ridge Parkway and its many parks, facilities and campgrounds await the millions of visitors that tour the scenic route each year, blueridgenow.com reports (the Hendersonville Times-News online edition). More than 14 million people visited the parkway in 2010:
“Spring has barely begun, but visitors already are traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the early blossoms, said Tim Frances, Pisgah District forest ranger. …”
The blueridgenow.com article has a list of key facility opening dates. Most parkway-associated campgrounds don’t open until May 11.
