The State Board of Elections has designated a special filing period for qualified candidates to file for election for Court of Appeals.
Interested candidates may file from noon on Monday, July 11 to noon on Friday, July 15 at the State Board of Elections office at 441 North Harrington Street in Raleigh.
The filing fee for this office is $1,341. All candidates will appear on the ballot this November and if elected will serve for an 8-year term.
Judge Martha Geer vacated her seat on the Court of Appeals in March, two years before the end of her second term.
The North Carolina State Board of Elections is the state agency charged with overall responsibility for administration of the elections process and campaign finance disclosure in North Carolina. The office of the State Board of Elections works in conjunction with County Board of Elections offices to ensure that elections are conducted lawfully and fairly.
