Board of Elections approves early voting plan for 2024 general election

Press release Buncombe County:

At their meeting on May 14, the Buncombe County Board of Elections voted unanimously to approve an Early Voting implementation plan for the Nov. 5 General Election.

More than 410 people chimed in on a public input survey on the proposed plan with more than 800 comments and most participants approving the plan with minor changes. Weekend hours, accessibility, and adding more rural locations were the top concerns.

After a robust discussion of possible rural sites, the plan was approved with 14 sites including Upper Hominy Fire & Rescue OR Jupiter Fire Department, an inclement weather policy, and outlining weekend hours including Saturdays and one Sunday.
