Transylvania Regional moves birthing center to Mission; residents voice concerns

Transylvania Regional Hospital is moving its birth center services to Mission Hospital in the wake of declining deliveries and to improve safety. Many Brevard residents, however, say they wish the birthing center would stay.

Transylvania Regional will begin using the Asheville hospital’s birth center on March 5, but will continue to provide women’s services locally with two board-certified OB-GYNs, Dr. Jamie Ramsey and Dr. Brian Barrow.
