Buncombe County Offices Operating on Regular Schedule; Use Caution and Expect Delays at Landfill and Transfer Station
Buncombe County Government offices will operate on a regular schedule Wednesday, Aug. 19. Due to lingering effects from Tropical Storm Fred, residents utilizing the land fill and transfer station should exercise caution and expect delays.
If traveling, residents should use caution, especially in flood-prone areas. Be especially careful in Upper Hominy Creek, Enka, Candler, and Swannanoa as some roads remain closed with trees down, high waters, and/or debris remaining from the storms.
“Many thanks go out to our emergency services personnel and first responders, who worked all night to keep our community and neighbors safe during this dangerous storm,” said County Manager Avril Pinder.
