Buncombe County Parks and Recreation holds community meeting on its master plan March 21

News release from Buncombe County Parks and Recreation:

Plant the Seeds and Shape the Space: Attend the Systemwide Parks and Recreation Master Plan Community Event

The second Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan community meeting takes place tomorrow  Thursday, March 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Enka High School. This interactive meeting will allow participants to share their voices and feedback by participating in various parks, recreation, greenways, trails, and open space planning exercises. By asking how residents currently use County parks and services, and what they want to see in the future, community voices will create the roadmap for Parks & Recreation to follow for the next 20 years. Language services will be available to Spanish-speaking community members at both community meetings.

Can’t make the meeting? The live stream of this event and the online survey will be available on the Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan website.

Buncombe County Parks & Recreation launched an online survey that will be available until early fall for the public to share their vision of the future of parks, recreation, greenways, trails, and open space. Take the survey here.

  1. Old Lady

Hands off private land! Greenways shouldn’t bulldoze through the rights of landowners. It’s not conservation; it’s a blatant land grab. If you live near a creek, better get a blue roof. The elite in Buncombe want our land for tourists! Let’s prioritize respects property owners rights and don’t steamroll over the interests of those who’ve worked hard for their land.
