Buncombe County tax office relocates to Coxe Avenue

Announcement from Buncombe County Tax Board:

the Buncombe County Tax Office has moved to 94 Coxe Avenue.   As the tax deadline approaches, citizens don’t have to visit the tax office to pay but if they do, they will find it at 94 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville with parking located across the street.   Questions?  Contact County Tax at 250-4910, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m

There are several ways to pay taxes:

  • In Person – visit the Tax Office’s new location at 94 Coxe Ave. You can park across the street from the entrance.
  • By Mail – there is a self-addressed envelope included with your tax bill.
  • Dropbox – Place your check or money order in the drop box located at 35 Woodfin Street.
  • Electronic Payments – you can use the online bill pay which can be found at buncombecounty.org/tax
  • Credit Card by Phone – call 1.877.690.3729 and enter Buncombe’s jurisdiction code (4301)
  • Preauthorized Debit Program – contact the Tax Office at 828.250.4910 to get more information on this option and to get started.

Remember that all payments must be received or postmarked no later than January 5, 2017 to avoid the 2% interest. Payment plan options are offered by the tax department but must be set up early to participate. If you need a payment plan, call the office immediately at 828.250.4910.

If you have misplaced your bill or need a receipt, they can be printed online at buncombetax.org. Finally, for more information, again, you can visit buncombecounty.org/tax.
